I wrote a post last week about practicing what you preach and today was the day of my big adventure. I expected to walk away from the conference feeling inspired and motivated. What I didn’t expect was a collision of synchronicities that turned today into a display of full-blown magic. Let me preface the story by saying that our keynote speaker is an entrepreneur, Vinh Giang, who started his own magic company. He is a master of illusions and uses the art of magic to inspire people. I mean… COME ON!!! His WHOLE presentation was right up my alley! Here’s a 10 minute video clip which is very similar to what he did today (courtesy of Vinh’s YouTube channel).
He had several gems in his presentation, but one of them was on the idea of perspective and how if you only view things from one perspective you can miss out on so much of the grand picture. And with keeping that concept of perspective in mind, I’d like to share with you the magic that has appeared in my life today.
Let me start by explaining that for months I have been seeing different combinations of 11’s and 4’s. The most popular being 11:11, 1:11, 4:44, and 11:44. I am constantly seeing 11 and 44 as stand alone numbers as well. I had to get up exceptionally early this morning to make it to my conference on time, but when I rolled out of bed an looked at my clock it was 4:44 and it was the first time I realized that the date was 4/4.
On my drive in, I made another connection… I have been OBSESSED with The Greatest Showman soundtrack and can’t wait for my pre-order copy of the musical to arrive in six days. For those who don’t know, the production is about P.T. Barnum and his journey of creating what became most recently known as Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus. P.T. was a huge dreamer and the musical and and soundtrack are very inspirational in encouraging you to believe in yourself and to believe in your dreams. If you are, or ever have been a dreamer, I can’t recommend it enough. And yes… there is a point to this.
Last March my husband and I won tickets (through my job who is also who put on today’s event) to attend one of the last performances of the Ringling Bros. circus in the very same town that I was in today. Oh… and because the point can’t be driven home enough… the show was of course, on the 11th. Anyway… This all dawned on my today as I was blaring my soundtrack on my long drive in and hit me so hard that I teared up.
Upon arriving at the building and not knowing anyone, I started to figure out where the heck I was going sit. As I walked through the door, table 11 was in my direct path. Strangely though, I felt hesitant about sitting there at first and veered to the right where I found myself at table 14 (which I just made THAT connection now). When I asked the ladies there if I could sit with them, they explained that the table was reserved for the speakers. As I made my way around the table, table 11 was once again directly in front of me. I opened by heart and decided to trust and asked the ladies at the table if I could join them. When the rest of the table arrived, three of the ladies were actually from my office location. Which was pretty incredible because it allowed me to establish a connection to other admins in our building. (Something I hadn’t done as of yet.)
I went to two very inspiring workshops. One of which was hosted by a woman who reminded me of someone very near and dear to me who is now passed. I felt her presence with me so many times during the presentation which felt like such a blessing. The second workshop was also inspiring, but Vinh was definitely the highlight of the day. His biggest message to us was…
“The impossible is not real… you create it.”
His message spoke to me on such a deep level. Between how inspired I’ve been by The Greatest Showman and hearing him reiterating the concept of being able to create the world you want to live it, it just really solidified the inner child dreamer within me that has been fighting to be heard for so many years. Everyone’s stories today were stories of “the impossible” becoming possible.
As Vihn said, you take things one step at a time and if you do that, then anything is possible. The first step of your journey must be taken with an open heart and an open mind. You must believe. In yourself and the possibilities that you are trying to create. You must surround yourself with the type of people that have the traits and qualities of what you aspire to be and by surrounding yourself with them, you will begin to take on their beliefs, and your beliefs dictate your actions. Those actions are the steps that will eventually lead you to making your dreams come true.
And that, my friends is where the magic lays. The magic IS the perspective. You decide whether you want to see it or not. Some people will read this and completely blow off the synchronicities, they may think… “man, she’s really reaching” or “those are all coincidences”. And if that’s how you choose to see it, it’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with that. BUT… there are those who will read this they will SEE the magic. They will understand the overwhelming gratitude and joy that fills your heart when everything aligns. That moment when it all makes sense and that everything that you’ve been seeing, and doing, and going through, and the choices that you have been making, the people that you have been surrounding yourself with… it has all been leading you “this moment”. Right now. It’s sheer magic.
Stay inspired. Stay magical. Stay Wonderfull.
